Gardening Direct: what to know before you buy
Choosing the right plants for your space
The range is organised around practical categories such as bedding plants, bulbs, climbers, shrubs and fruit trees, so start with what your outside space needs. Climbing plants suit tight boundaries or walls, shrubs add structure and year-round texture, and fruit trees suit gardens with enough sun and room to grow. The company says it offers guides for each plant it sells, which is useful if you are new to a particular type.
Understanding plant sizes and formats
Bedding plants are sold by size, so check the format before you order if you want an immediate display or a larger, established plant. Live plants are sent as plants rather than as seeds, so think about planting time and how quickly you need results. Pre-planted collections can save time if you want a finished look without choosing each variety separately.
Planning around delivery
Live plants are sent by a tracked courier and are not signed for on delivery, so consider where you want the parcel left. Orders may be sent by Royal Mail for smaller purchases, which carries no tracking. Dispatch can be paused when extreme frost or heat is forecast, and orders are not sent over Bank Holiday weekends, so factor that into your planting plans. Delivery is not available to Northern Ireland.
Checking the basics before you buy
Compare your basket total against the free delivery threshold before checkout, as smaller orders carry a delivery charge. Read the care instructions included with live orders, as they explain how to get the best results once plants arrive.
Questions about Gardening Direct
Are there any Gardening Direct discount codes?
We currently list 3 discount codes. Check each offer's terms, country and expiry date before using it. The retailer confirms eligibility at checkout.
Does Gardening Direct deliver to Northern Ireland?
No. The company states it is not able to deliver to Northern Ireland, so check this before placing an order.
Will my plants be dispatched during bad weather?
Most plants are tough, but the most perishable items may be held back if extreme frost or heat is forecast, and orders are not sent over Bank Holiday weekends.
Who handles my order?
You complete your purchase with the retailer. For order changes, delivery questions or a refund, contact the seller shown on your order confirmation. Vouchernaut publishes shopping guides and offers; we don't process your purchase.

Artificial Grass Direct
Artificial Grass Direct sells artificial grass in a range of pile heights and styles, from soft garden lawns to tougher sports surfaces. It also supplies fitting accessories such as weed membrane, adhesive, joining tape and fixing pins. This profile looks at how the main products differ and what to weigh up before buying.
Buy Sheds Direct
Buy Sheds Direct is a UK supplier focused on garden buildings, covering sheds, log cabins, garden storage and summer houses. It suits anyone looking to add a practical or relaxing structure to a garden, patio or outdoor area without having to source each piece separately.
Gardenesque
Gardenesque sells garden furniture, plant pots and outdoor features, with a strong focus on terracotta and glazed pots and weather-resistant seating. The range leans towards pieces meant to stay outside for years, and its UK courier arrangements matter for large items.
Gardenista
Gardenista sells outdoor cushions, seat pads and water-resistant covers for garden furniture, from rattan sets and sun lounger cushions to chair pads with ties. Its pages describe made-to-order production in Birmingham, so checking sizing and colour before ordering is worth the time.
Greenera
Greenera sells garden supplies for growing, looking after and enjoying outdoor space, from hose reels and raised beds to garden edging and outdoor furniture. The range is split into Grow, Care and Enjoy, which makes it easier to find what you need for a particular job in the garden.
Hayloft Plants
Hayloft Plants sells garden plants alongside gardening accessories, and shoppers buy from it online. If you are filling borders, pots or a patio, it is a sensible place to compare what is available before you commit to an order.
Mint Outdoor
Mint Outdoor sells rattan and aluminium garden sofas, corner sets and dining sets, with many ranges made to order rather than stocked in a warehouse. The practical questions for UK buyers are delivery timing, which postcodes are excluded, assembly costs and how returns work for large, heavy pieces.
Selections
Selections is a UK garden and outdoor living retailer, with a range that runs from raised beds and planters to garden furniture covers and bird feeders. Its homepage also points to homeware and household storage. The useful way in is to start from the job: a plot to fill, a wildlife space to support, or a bulky outdoor item to protect.
