Starting a project with Hedra Agent

AI video studio for talking avatars, ads and short films, with its own Character-3 model and over 100 others
Hedra has a free plan. Prices in US dollars as Hedra's pricing page showed them on 11 October 2026.
Hedra is an AI video studio that turns a photo, a script or a voice into talking avatar videos, ads and short films, using its own Character-3 model alongside Veo, Kling, Seedance and ElevenLabs. It suits marketers and creators making presenter clips, UGC-style ads and music videos. A limited free tier adds watermarks; paid plans start at $20 a month for 2,000 credits, all with commercial use.
Hedra's own model animates a photo or character to speak or sing to an audio track, with lip sync in several languages and clips of up to 10 minutes.
Describe a project and the agent plans it, generates video, images and voice, and edits the results on a canvas. Built-in Skills cover storyboards, UGC ads, product showcases, character sheets and moodboards.
Video from Google Veo 3.1, Kling, Seedance, MiniMax and Wan, images from GPT Image, Flux and Nano Banana, and voices and music from ElevenLabs, all billed from the same credits.
Save characters, products and visual references as Elements so the agent keeps them recognisable and on-brand across generations.
Teammates, and their agents, can work in the same Space at the same time, with a library for organising past work.
Separate Video, Image, Speech and Edit Video tools give direct control over the model, references, length and resolution without the agent.
Developers can run the same models through one API key, priced per second or per generation, and connect agents through Hedra's MCP server and command-line tool.

“I have found the quality of production of Hedra, to be absolutely first rate.”
“Very expensive AND at the same time very poor result. No refund policy nevertheless.”
“Do not purchase the Professional plan before testing Hedra extensively”
Hedra is a browser-based AI studio for video, images and speech: you describe what you want to an AI agent, or use manual tools, and it generates the clips on a shared canvas.
Hedra made its name with talking avatars. Its Character-3 model animates a photo of a person or character so it speaks or sings to an audio track, and its docs say avatar videos can run up to 10 minutes. In 2026 the studio grew into what Hedra calls a visual agent: it plans a project, picks from over 100 models (Google Veo 3.1, Kling, Seedance, MiniMax, GPT Image, Flux and ElevenLabs voices among them) and edits the results. Hedra's docs walk through UGC-style ads, product videos, presenter videos, music videos, face swaps and animating still images. Teams can work in the same Space at once, and developers can reach the same models through an API.
Hedra's paid plans start at $20 a month for 2,000 credits, and every plan is priced in US dollars, so UK cards are charged the converted amount.
Monthly credits reset each billing cycle and don't roll over. Extra credit packs can be bought when you run out, and those don't expire. Hedra's help centre says annual subscriptions exist and pay out the whole year's credits up front, but the pricing page only shows monthly prices, and it doesn't say whether VAT is added for UK buyers.
Yes, Hedra lets you start free with no card, but the free tier is limited and its videos carry a watermark.
The pricing page doesn't say how many free credits you get. Hedra's own FAQ says that without a subscription you keep only limited watermarked generations, and that leftover credits can only be used again once you resubscribe. Video is billed by the second, so a 10-second Character-3 clip costs 10 seconds of credits rather than a full minute. Failed generations may be refunded automatically as credits.
Hedra is worth considering if you make lots of short presenter clips or ads and want many video models in one place; it's harder to justify if you need one reliable avatar video now and then.
Trustpilot reviewers who are happy praise the quality of the output, especially for music videos. The complaints are about cost and control: reviewers say retries burn through credits before a usable clip appears, that a character's look doesn't always stay consistent, and that there's no refund once credits are spent. One reviewer advises against buying a large plan before testing it extensively, which is sound advice: the free tier or the $20 Basic plan shows whether the output suits you before you commit to Pro or Ultra.
Synthesia and HeyGen are built around ready-made stock avatars and script-to-video for training and business clips; Hedra is aimed at creators who want their own characters and a wider mix of video, image and voice models.
Hedra's own comparison page says Synthesia turns a script into a stock-avatar video, while Hedra produces the whole piece with your own presenter, voice and footage. Hedra even runs HeyGen's Photo Avatar 4 model inside its studio. For a corporate training library with a fixed presenter, a dedicated avatar tool is simpler. For ads, music videos and stylised characters, Hedra's range of models gives more creative room. Among AI creative tools in this section, FLORA is the closest rival: it chains third-party models on a visual canvas.
Yes, every paid plan on Hedra's pricing page includes commercial use, and its terms say Hedra doesn't claim ownership of what you upload or generate.
If you upload faces or voices, Hedra's biometric data policy says it may store facial geometry and voice data to provide its features and keeps it no longer than three years after your last use. Hedra Inc. is a US company in San Francisco and New York, and disputes fall under New York courts and arbitration.
