This Julia Donaldson two-book picture book set brings together two beloved rhyming stories loved by preschoolers and early readers across the UK. Spinderella follows a football-mad spider learning to count her teammates, while Night Monkey, Day Monkey celebrates two very different monkey friends. Together they offer bouncy, read-aloud rhythm, warm humour and gentle lessons about friendship, teamwork and counting, making this bundle an ideal introduction to Donaldson's much-loved storytelling for bedtime, storytime or classroom sharing.. About the Books. Spinderella is a glittering, football-themed spin on a classic tale, written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated with lively full-colour artwork by Sebastien Braun. Spinderella the spider longs to join her brothers and sisters for a match, but with eight legs to count and goals to keep track of, things quickly get tricky — until her Hairy Godmother steps in with some magical help. Playful rhyme, a foiled cover and a subtle counting theme make this a favourite for Halloween sharing and early number recognition alike.. Night Monkey, Day Monkey turns the spotlight on friendship and difference. One monkey swings through the daytime jungle while the other comes alive at night — and though their worlds seem worlds apart, the pair discover that their differences make them better friends, not further apart. Illustrated with soft, expressive artwork by Lucy Richards, the story's gentle rhythm and repetition make it a soothing, reassuring read for younger listeners, while its message about accepting differences resonates with slightly older children too. Both stories showcase Donaldson's trademark rhyming craft, built for reading aloud again and again.. Two
