The Blossomist: what to know before you buy
Choosing between letterbox and hand-tied
Letterbox flowers suit a home with a narrow letterbox and no one in during the day, as the arrangement is designed to fit through a standard slot. Hand-tied bouquets are the larger, more presentational option and need to be delivered to someone who can take a parcel. Check whether the recipient can receive a parcel before choosing the larger format.
Understanding delivery costs and timing
Standard delivery is sent by Royal Mail at a flat rate per order, and the site notes that Royal Mail timings are not guaranteed. If your gift needs to arrive on a specific day, the premium DPD next-day service is the more dependable choice, though it costs more. Saturday delivery carries its own charge, and deliveries run Monday to Saturday rather than on Sundays. Check the nominated date and cut-off time at checkout before you pay.
Subscriptions and what they cover
Subscriptions suit anyone wanting regular flowers in the home rather than a single occasion. Rolling subscriptions are charged a few days before each delivery, while pre-paid options are taken at the point of ordering. The subscription bouquets are updated every week, so you cannot choose individual flowers. Changes to a delivery date must be made at least 48 hours before the subscription is due to ship.
Freshness, damage and refunds
The brand promises flowers will last at least seven days when cared for properly, and some stems are sent in bud so they open after delivery. Because flowers are perishable, returns are not accepted. For damaged stems, the Help Centre asks you to get in touch within 48 hours of receiving your delivery with photos. If flowers still do not look their best after 48 hours, contact the team. The refund policy separately allows 72 hours from receipt for reporting damage, so check which window applies before you wait. Refunds are processed within three business days and then take a further 5-10 business days to reach your statement.

Christmas flowers or a Christmas plant? What to send so it lasts past New YearChristmas flowers are a festive bouquet that lasts about a week; a Christmas plant such as an amaryllis, poinsettia or Christmas cactus flowers through the holidays and, in the cactus's case, for years. In October 2026 a bouquet costs from about £30 delivered at Bunches, and gift plants run from £14 to £40 plus delivery at Prickle, Hayloft and Blossoming Gifts.
Fresh flowers on repeat: UK flower subscriptions compared, small print includedA UK flower subscription costs about £25 to £40 a delivery in October 2026. Bunches and Bloom & Wild are the cheapest ways in, Freddie's suits people who like arranging, and MyFlowers sends hand-tied bouquets, with a Club that pays off for anyone sending flowers often.
Letterbox flowers worth sending when you can't be thereLetterbox flowers are fresh stems sent in bud in a slim box that fits through the door, so nobody has to be in. They cost about £25 to £35 delivered in October 2026: Bunches gives the most for the money, Arena takes orders until 9pm, InterRose posts a single rose from £19.95 and Appleyard's dried box is guaranteed for a year.
