Wallpaperdirect: what to know before you buy
Start with the look you want
Wallpaper is easier to choose when you know the room and the feel you are after. Decide whether you want a bold statement wall, a quieter repeating pattern, or a plain textured finish that lets furniture and art take the lead. That decision narrows the range far more than comparing individual patterns.
Use the wall visualisation
The site describes a tool that shows how a design will look on a wall, which is the most useful feature for a purchase like this. Try it with the room's actual proportions, and check how the pattern reads at a distance as well as up close. Colours can shift under artificial light, so treat any preview as a guide rather than a guarantee.
Compare materials and pattern scale
Wallpaper ranges include different materials and print styles, and the right choice depends on where it will hang. Larger repeats suit tall, open walls, while small or busy prints can feel overwhelming in a narrow hallway. Compare the look of each option across the whole room rather than one sheet at a time.
Plan the quantity before you buy
Measure each wall and work out the total area before ordering, and allow for pattern matching when the design repeats. Buying a little extra from the same batch is a sensible safeguard for repairs. Check the product details for roll sizes and coverage before you add anything to your basket.
Questions about Wallpaperdirect
Are there any Wallpaperdirect discount codes?
We don't currently list a confirmed discount code for AU. That doesn't mean the store has no promotions; check its website for current prices.
Can I see how a wallpaper will look in my room?
Wallpaperdirect describes a feature that shows how a design will look on the wall, so you can preview a pattern before buying. Lighting and screen differences mean the preview is a guide, so compare the final result with a physical sample where possible.
What should I consider when choosing a wallpaper pattern?
Think about the size of the room and the scale of the print. Large repeats suit spacious walls, while smaller or busier designs can work better in compact spaces. Comparing patterns across the whole room helps you avoid choices that look different once hung.
