Broadband & TV · Updated 10 October 2026

Broadband and TV. Your postcode first, then the deals.

In short

What you can get depends on what's been built in your street. Providers on Openreach's lines reach almost every home outside Hull; Virgin Media and the full fibre networks only the streets they've built. The internet checker shows what your postcode gets and who could connect you, and on Universal Credit and some other benefits, social tariffs start at £12.50 a month.

A postcode works. So does a whole address pasted in.

How does each provider reach your home?

Who sells at your postcode

Over a network built in your street, and a provider can only sell you what's there, so the same deal can be on one side of a road and not the other. The checker matches every provider to your postcode; these are the ones with a guide here.

Their own full fibre or cable

Networks they built themselves, so each reaches only the streets it has built in. Only its own checker knows whether it reaches your door.

Also: giffgaff Broadband, CityFibre, Hyperoptic, G.Network, KCOM, YouFibre and 9 more on the checker.

Over the phone line network

Openreach's lines reach almost every home outside Hull, and on the same line the speed is the same whichever provider you pick.

Also: BT, Sky, Vodafone, Plusnet, NOW Broadband, Zen and 4 more on the checker.

No line needed

4G and 5G home broadband runs on a mobile network's masts, so it depends on the signal inside your home.

Also: Vodafone 5G Broadband, Three 5G Home Broadband, National Broadband, Starlink.

What codes and deals are live in Broadband & TV?

Codes open on their store's page, where you can copy them and say whether they worked.

I may earn a commission when you shop through these offers, at no cost to you. How that works.

Is there cheaper broadband on benefits?

Every social tariff

Yes. On Universal Credit, Pension Credit and some other benefits, most big providers sell a social tariff: the same lines for less. These are the cheapest, each read on the provider's own page.

532,000
households were on a social tariff in June 2025, about 8.6% of those who could be — Ofcom's figures, reported by ISPreview

Broadband & TV questions

How do I find out what broadband I can get?

Put your postcode into Vouchernaut's internet checker. It shows what Ofcom's figures say that postcode can get, from basic broadband to gigabit, what's planned there in England and Wales, and every provider that could connect you.

Can every broadband provider sell to my home?

No. Providers that sell over Openreach's lines, such as BT, Sky and TalkTalk, reach almost every home outside Hull. Virgin Media and the full fibre networks, such as Community Fibre and Hyperoptic, reach only the streets they've built, so a deal can be on one side of a road and not the other.

What is a broadband social tariff?

A cheaper plan for people on Universal Credit, Pension Credit and some other benefits, on the same lines as the provider's other plans. The cheapest I list is Community Fibre's Essential 35, £12.50 a month.

How many households use a broadband social tariff?

About 532,000 households were on a social tariff in June 2025, around 8.6% of those who could be, by Ofcom's figures.
