Is Netflix with ads worth it?
Our note
On 4 September 2026, ISPreview reported Netflix's UK price rise: Standard with Ads went to £7.99 a month, from £5.99. The same report put Standard at £13.99 and Premium at £20.99. For existing members, it said the change depended on their billing date, usually around 30 days after notice.
When I checked Netflix's UK plans on 30 October 2026, Standard with adverts was £7.99 a month, beside £13.99 for Standard. The ad plan included all but a few films and shows, Full HD on two devices at once and downloads on two devices. Netflix's ad guidance, checked the same day, described a few short ads per hour that cannot be skipped or fast-forwarded. Netflix also said its plans bill monthly, with no annual plan, and can be changed or cancelled at any time. Those missing titles and unskippable breaks would decide whether the £7.99 plan feels worth it to me.
