Is tastecard worth it?
Every tastecard plan's price →
Our note
On 21 October, the Office for National Statistics said restaurant and hotel prices were 3.8% higher in September 2026 than a year earlier. When I read tastecard's plans page on 29 October, it listed Annual and Monthly plans with the same discounts; Monthly was £7.99. That brings the value of tastecard down to the places where you would use it.
At participating restaurants, the listed dining offers are 2 for 1 meals or 25% off the total bill. The plans page also lists 25% off barista-made drinks, plus pizza, cinema and days-out discounts. I would check which nearby places accept the card, what they offer and whether those are places I would have used anyway. A 2 for 1 deal depends on the meals ordered.
The terms say restaurants can leave or change their offers, and deals may not combine with other promotions. Only the named member can use the card. Memberships renew automatically. Cancellation does not bring a refund for the rest of the term, although there is a 14-day cooling-off period after first joining, with a possible charge for use during it. The deciding detail is the discount available on your own likely visits.
