Waterstones Plus Signing in, the app, a lost card and your card number

Waterstones Plus is Waterstones' free rewards scheme: you earn a Plus Stamp for every £10 you spend (half a stamp on £5 to £9.99), and every 10 stamps become £10 to spend. You earn and spend in its bookshops, cafés, on Waterstones.com and in the app, and students get 5% off most purchases with Plus Student.

How do I register my Waterstones Plus card and sign in?

Short answer: Online, in-app or in-store

Join on Waterstones.com through the Plus symbol at the top of the page, in the Waterstones app by sliding open the Plus drawer from the bottom of the home screen, or by asking a bookseller for a card in any Waterstones shop, which you can link to your online account at any time. Click the link in the activation email that follows, or you won't be able to spend your Plus balance. Sign in at waterstones.com/plus/signin.

Is there a Waterstones Plus card app?

Short answer: Yes, in the Waterstones app

Yes: in the Waterstones app, swipe up from the home screen to show your digital Plus card, and the bookseller scans its barcode, which works even when you're offline. You don't need a plastic card as well, though you can pick one up in any shop and use both on the same account. If the scan fails, turn up your screen brightness, or ask the bookseller to type in your card number from the app.

I've lost my Waterstones Plus card. What do I do?

Short answer: Replace it in a shop

Your Plus Balance is safe, because your account is linked to your email address. Ask in any Waterstones bookshop for a new card, or contact Customer Support: if they can trace your account, they'll give you a new card number, move your stamps and balance across and post you a replacement. Plus Student members need to show they're still a student in a shop to get a replacement card.

Where do I find my Waterstones Plus card number?

Short answer: 16 digits, on your card

Your Waterstones Plus card number is 16 digits long and is on your card. It's the number you link to your Waterstones.com account so online orders earn stamps, and if your phone won't scan, a bookseller can read it from the app and type it in.

Can I share my Waterstones Plus stamps?

Short answer: No

No. Waterstones' terms say your card, stamps and Plus balance can't be transferred to any other cardholder, and that stamps can't be exchanged, sold or transferred. The one exception is moving them between your own Plus and Plus Student cards. Check your card's terms.

Can I have more than one Waterstones Plus card?

Short answer: Plastic card plus the app

You can have a plastic card and the app on the same account: give a bookseller your email address and they'll issue a card linked to your account. Stamps collected in the app, on the website or with the plastic card all count towards one balance. Check your card's terms.

Can someone else use my Waterstones Plus card?

Short answer: Terms say personal use only

The terms say Waterstones Plus is for personal use only, with no corporate or business use, and that your card, stamps and Plus balance can't be transferred to another cardholder. They don't say whether a partner or family member may show your card at the till. Check your card's terms.

I checked these answers against Waterstones' own pages on 13 October 2026. Schemes change their rules, so check your card's terms before you count on one.

Questions people ask

Can someone else use my Waterstones Plus card?

The terms say Waterstones Plus is for personal use only, with no corporate or business use, and that your card, stamps and Plus balance can't be transferred to another cardholder. They don't say whether a partner or family member may show your card at the till. Check your card's terms.

Can I keep my Waterstones Plus card on my phone with Vouchernaut?

Yes, free. Scan its barcode at vouchernaut.com/cards, or take a photo of it, and it's saved with the barcode drawn sharp for the till. Without an account it stays on that phone; a free account keeps it if you change phones.

Does Vouchernaut add my Waterstones Plus card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?

No. Vouchernaut keeps your card in its own wallet in your browser and doesn't make Apple Wallet or Google Wallet passes.

Can my family use my Waterstones Plus card from Vouchernaut?

Yes, if you share it: start a free family, invite the people you shop with and tap Share on the card. It shows on their phones until you stop sharing. Every scheme sets its own rules on who can use a card, so sharing is your call. Check your card's terms.

Will the till scan my Waterstones Plus card from my phone?

Most tills read barcodes from a phone screen. Vouchernaut draws the barcode again sharp and checks it reads back as your number before it's marked ready for the till. If one struggles, turn your screen brightness up, or read out the number underneath.

Does Vouchernaut see my points or what I buy?

No. It keeps your card's barcode and number to show at the till. It doesn't read your points or balance, track what you buy or sell anything on.
