Fussy Deodorant: what to know before you buy
The story
Fussy started when its founders noticed how much single-use plastic goes into everyday bathroom items like deodorant, and thought there must be a better way. They launched as a Kickstarter project in October 2020. Their line is that every deodorant you have ever used is still in existence.
The idea
You buy a case once and refill it. Fussy says the award-winning case is designed to last a lifetime, shaped like a pebble from the beach and fully recyclable. The refills are plastic free, made from waste sugarcane, and the company says they decompose in your garden or the bin.
The range
There is deodorant in a wide choice of scents, from tropical and citrus to herby and fresh, with a sensitive skin formula as well. The same refill approach covers body wash and hand wash, and there are body bars and minis. Starter packs pair a case with a refill, and bundles group several together.
Credentials
Fussy is a certified B Corp and says its deodorant is certified carbon neutral through ClimatePartner. It is vegan and Leaping Bunny approved for cruelty-free standards. It also says its boxes are made from fully recyclable cardboard, and it asks for a fair trial of the deodorant before you decide, because switching to a natural formula can take a few weeks to settle.
