JOY opened a few weeks before Christmas 1999 on Coldharbour Lane in Brixton, run by founder Maureen O’Brien after years of designing for the British high street. For over twenty years it traded from shops across London and the UK, and the website arrived in 2012. Since 2022 it has been online only, run from its London studio by the same people who ran the shops.
Louche is JOY’s own womenswear label, designed in the West Norwood studio with prints drawn in-house. The brand says every shape is fitted on real women before production, and that it builds around pockets, bodices that fit and fabrics made to last beyond a season.
JOY is a multi-brand store. Louche dresses, tops, skirts and knitwear sit next to jewellery, accessories, cards, stationery, homeware and gifts chosen from independent designers. Each product page gives the model’s height and size, and a fit guide explains how each shape runs.
Orders go by Royal Mail, usually dispatched within a working day, with tracking once they leave. Standard and next working day options are offered, and costs, the free-delivery level and which postcodes can’t get next-day are on the delivery page and at checkout. JOY also ships internationally through global shipping partners.
Live codes and deals are listed on this page: copy a code and enter it at their checkout. JOY also runs sale and outlet sections and offers a welcome saving for people who join its mailing list, and the free-delivery level rewards putting a few pieces in one basket.
Changed your mind? JOY has a returns portal where you log in with your order number and choose to return, exchange or take JOY Credit. Exchanges are free, and refunds carry a postage charge. Items need to be unworn, in perfect condition and with tags attached, and for hygiene reasons some items, such as pierced jewellery and underwear, can’t be returned.
We currently list 3 discount codes. Check each offer's terms, country and expiry date before using it. The retailer confirms eligibility at checkout.
