Peppersmith was started by two friends, Dan and Mike, who met at Innocent and felt confectionery had not moved on. Their first breakthrough was Finnish-style xylitol gum, and their second was a deeper peppermint from a farmer in Hampshire. The first gum went out one London café, deli and health shop at a time, followed by the first 100% xylitol mints.
Everything is sugar free and sweetened with xylitol, a tooth-friendly sweetener that Peppersmith says dentists back and the Oral Health Foundation approves. It adds no aspartame, and the brand states its mints and gum are suitable for vegans and vegetarians, gluten free and nut free. It makes everything in Finland, at the same factory it has used since 2009.
Mints come in English peppermint, extra strong, lemon and strawberry. Gum comes in peppermint and spearmint. You can buy boxes of pocket packs, a mixed taster box if you want to try flavours, or larger resealable pouches for a desk, bag or car.
Peppersmith says it ships within the UK for now. Free delivery applies above a spend shown on their site, and delivery terms are on their delivery and terms page. Questions about an order already sent go to their small team by phone or email.
Subscribe & Save lowers the price of regular orders, and boxes work out cheaper per pack than single packs. Any live code is listed on this page. Student discount and a first-order offer also appear in their site footer.
You can return unopened mints and gum for a refund or an exchange. Peppersmith asks that returns are sent at your own expense within 28 days of receipt. If your order arrives damaged, it will send a replacement or refund, including the postage back.
