Our note

On 15 October, Activision said Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 would launch separately on 23 October and would not join Game Pass until Holiday 2027. Someone subscribing mainly to play it at launch would have to buy it separately. That makes the games available at the time central to the value question.

Xbox Game Pass has four monthly plans. On Xbox's plan page, Essential is £6.99 for 50+ games and online console multiplayer. Premium is £10.99 for 200+ games, with new Xbox-published games added within a year. Ultimate is £16.99 for 400+ games, some new games on day one and other extras. PC Game Pass is £10.99 for 300+ PC games. The plans continue until cancelled.

I would compare the fees with games I would otherwise buy and can actually find in the library. Access is rented: Xbox says titles and availability change. GamingBible reported that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 left on 15 October. A game leaving before you finish it changes the calculation.
