Debenhams: shoppers' questions

Questions about Debenhams, answered by us and by readers who've shopped there.

  1. Does Debenhams do an NHS or Blue Light Card discount?

    Our answer

Yes, through Blue Light Card. NHS workers can join, including retired staff, along with emergency services, armed forces, teachers, social care workers and other listed groups. Membership costs £4.99 for two years. Members find the Debenhams offer in their Blue Light Card account and apply it at checkout. Blue Light Card says the discount is generally for online use and typically covers fashion, beauty, fragrance and home lines.

  2. Does Debenhams do a student discount?

    Our answer

Yes. Debenhams works with UNiDAYS and Student Beans. UNiDAYS lists 10% off online for verified UNiDAYS members and says student offers usually apply to full-price items. Student Beans lists its own Debenhams student discounts, which vary by department. Verify your student status with either scheme, then claim the discount from its Debenhams page and apply it at checkout on debenhams.com.

  3. How much is Debenhams delivery?

    Our answer

UK standard delivery is £3.99 per order, express £4.99 and next day £5.99. Supersaver delivery is £2.99, or 99p on orders over £30, and delivery to a 24/7 InPost locker is £2.49. Next day delivery depends on ordering before the cut-off shown at checkout and doesn't cover items from concession brands. Standard delivery to Northern Ireland is £4.99. Debenhams UNLIMITED costs £14.99 a year and gives free delivery on orders over £15 for 12 months, without renewing automatically.

  4. What is Debenhams' returns policy?

    Our answer

You have 21 days from the day you receive your order to return an item. Debenhams takes a returns fee from your refund: £2.49 by InPost or ASDA, £2.99 by Evri or Royal Mail. You start the return in its returns portal, and the steps depend on whether Debenhams or a partner brand supplied the item. Clothing and footwear must be unworn and unwashed with labels attached, and cosmetics, pierced jewellery, swimwear and lingerie can't go back once a hygiene seal is broken. Refunds take up to 14 days to process, plus up to 5 days for your bank. Debenhams doesn't do exchanges.
