Renogy: what to know before you buy
The story
Renogy started as a small project by students at Louisiana State University, with help from the Louisiana Business and Technology Center. Since 2010 it says its mission has been to change how the world uses energy, aiming to put energy independence within reach of millions of people with DIY-friendly renewable products. The name stands for renovation and renewable energy.
The range
The shop covers lithium iron phosphate batteries, solar panels, inverters, DC-DC chargers and complete power kits. You can browse by use, such as motorhome, farm or shed. Panel and battery sizes are listed by voltage and capacity, so check these against your setup before you buy. Renogy also sells accessories such as cables and monitors, and it publishes guides and an app for keeping an eye on your system once it's running, which helps if you're building a first setup yourself.
Delivery
The UK shop ships from warehouses in Manchester and Bolton, with parcel and larger freight services. Delivery to mainland UK is free on many items, though heavy freight orders can carry extra fees and take longer than parcels. Northern Ireland carries an extra shipping fee, and the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly aren't served. If the outer packaging is damaged, the shop asks you to refuse the parcel or send photos.
Saving
Renogy marks many items down from a previous price and runs regular deals, and its kits can cost less than buying each part. Any live code is listed on this page: copy it and enter it at their checkout. A membership scheme also earns reward points on purchases.
Returns
You contact customer service within the return period to get an authorisation number, and items must be unused, undamaged and in original packaging. Batteries have a shorter window and can be refused if they've been used. Return postage is your cost unless the item arrived faulty or wrong, and modified products aren't accepted.
