Noise cancellation and bot-free AI meeting notes for Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and other call apps
Free planAI meeting notes, action items and automations for online and in-person meetings, with or without a bot
Granola transcribes meetings from your device's audio with no bot in the call, then turns your rough notes into a full write-up. It scores 4.9 on Google Play from 3,050 reviews, 4.9 on the UK App Store from 2,244 ratings and 4.8 on Product Hunt from 56. It has a UK entity, though notes and transcripts are stored on AWS in the US.
Circleback takes notes, action items and automations from online and in-person meetings, with a bot or with its bot-free desktop app, and can record from a phone or Apple Watch. It scores 4.9 on Product Hunt from 9 reviews and 4.7 on the App Store from 38 ratings, but only 2.9 on Trustpilot from 4 reviews.
Krisp combines noise cancellation with bot-free AI meeting notes for Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and other call apps. It has by far the most reviews of the three, 4.7 on G2 from 1,533, alongside 3.0 on Trustpilot from 412, where some reviewers complain about automatic renewals.
Granola's free Basic plan has no cap on meetings or transcription time but only shows the last 30 days of notes, and it leaves out the Notion, HubSpot and Zapier integrations. Circleback's free plan keeps 30 days of meeting and recording history and includes AI notes, action items, search across meetings and API access. For anyone who needs older notes, the paid plans are the way to keep them.
Granola transcribes the audio on your Mac or Windows computer and deletes the audio after transcription. Krisp runs English transcription on your device. Circleback's desktop app records without a bot, and its bot remains an option for calls you can't attend. A bot-free recorder is quieter in client calls, but it relies on your own device capturing the audio.
The paid plans side by side, all in US dollars: - Granola Business: $14 per user a month, billed monthly only, with unlimited history and advanced AI models - Circleback Pro: $18 per user a month, or $15 billed yearly, with unlimited history and one year of recordings - Krisp Core: $16 per user a month, or $8 billed yearly, with unlimited notes and noise cancellation - Circleback Business: $29 a month, or $25 billed yearly, with admin roles and unlimited free viewers - Krisp Advanced: $30 a month, or $15 billed yearly, adding accent conversion and Salesforce - Granola Enterprise and Circleback Enterprise: from $35 per user a month on annual contracts
Granola adds VAT by billing address; Circleback and Krisp don't mention VAT on their pricing pages.
Granola lets students in the UK, US and Canada, and seed-stage startups, apply for 12 months of Business free, and gives registered non-profits 50% off Business. Circleback gives students 50% off and non-profits 30% off. Krisp lists no student or non-profit discount, but its yearly billing halves the price.
Circleback's Business plan also adds readers as free viewers rather than paid seats, so only the people who hold meetings need paying for. Granola has no annual discount on Business, so its $14 price is the same whichever way you pay.
Granola stores notes and transcripts on AWS in the US, and Circleback and Krisp also keep data in the US with no UK or EU option. Granola's UK entity signs a UK GDPR data processing agreement with standard contractual clauses.
Circleback records in-person meetings, including from a phone or Apple Watch. Granola has iPhone and Android apps, and its web version only views and edits notes.
Reviewers report that Granola's speaker attribution is unreliable on calls with several people, and that Krisp sometimes mislabels speakers and struggles with some accents. Circleback reviewers on Trustpilot mention missed recordings.
Granola uses anonymised data for its own model training unless you opt out, and Enterprise workspaces are opted out by default. Circleback and Krisp state they don't train models on customer data.
Granola transcribes 31 languages on desktop and can switch language mid-meeting. Krisp runs English transcription on the device.
