A £100 PlayStation gift card can put £100 in a wallet without costing £100. On 29 October 2026, a UK card at ShopToShopTo.NetShopTo.net is a UK online retailer built around video games, consoles, digital downloads and gift cards for PlayStation, Nintendo and Xbox. It also stocks TVs, laptops and tablets.Buying guide · View store → cost £85.85, taking 14% off the credit you'd use for a game, an add-on or a year of PS Plus. Sony's own top-up adds exactly what you pay. That gap is worth knowing about before you pay face value.

A PlayStation gift card, also sold as a PSN card or PlayStation Store voucher, is a 12-digit code that adds money to a PlayStation account. The shop doesn't change what the credit buys, but it can change what you pay. Bigger UK cards tend to save more, while a card for another country won't work on a UK account. I'd start with what you want to pay for, then choose the discounted card that covers it without leaving much behind.

What can the credit pay for?

The saving matters only if the money goes towards something you wanted anyway. PlayStation wallet funds buy content and services from the PlayStation Store: games, add-ons and subscriptions such as PS Plus, on a PS5, PS4, the web store or the PlayStation App. They won't buy a console or controller.

The wallet pays first when you buy something, and another payment method can cover the shortfall. At October 2026 prices, a £50 card towards a £69.99 game leaves £19.99 to pay by bank card; the card's discount applies to that £50. The same principle reaches renewals: PS Plus takes the wallet balance first, then charges any remainder to your card. A gift card needn't match a store price exactly.

The limit to that flexibility is where the money ends up. Once added, wallet funds can't be refunded. A discounted £200 card is still poor value if most of its credit sits unused.

Where does the discount come from?

Face value is the ordinary price for these cards. On 24 October 2026, the cards on Argos's PlayStation Plus page and Currys's PlayStation Plus page sold at face value, while Amazon's £50 card cost £50. The games shops below offered the alternative, but each sells in its own way, changing who stands behind a code.

Its £10 and £20 cards were at face value on 29 October 2026; £40, £50, £70 and £100 were slightly below it, and odd values were above it. The exception worth noticing was its £60 card at £55.99, the only £60 option under face value.

On 29 October 2026, a £63.77 listing for a £70 card became £68.98 with the £5.21 fee: still below face value, but above ShopTo's £60.85.

Loaded's UK cards sit outside our comparison. Its £50 card cost £45.99 on 24 October 2026, a little more than ShopTo's.

In the October 2026 comparison, from £70 upwards the saving was 12% to 14%; below that, 5% to 10%. The odd values, including £15, £25, £30, £35, £45, £80 and £90, cost more than they held at every shop in the comparison. Some marketplace listings asked over half as much again. A pair of round values is a better route to those totals.

I can see the appeal of £200 credit for £170.85 in October 2026 if you buy a few full-price games a year. For someone buying one game, the larger discount percentage doesn't justify money left in a wallet they can't refund. The next question is how closely the cards fit the thing you're buying.

A game, a PS Plus year or a present?

The PlayStation Store price stays the same when you pay with credit; the saving comes from what the cards cost you. These combinations used card prices from 29 October 2026 and left just 1p in the wallet in each case.

A PS Plus present has another route: UK membership codes are worth comparing with wallet credit, and a code can make a better present than credit. The cheap PS Plus guide compares every route, including Sony's own offers. For a game, discounted credit also works on a PlayStation Store sale price, so the two discounts can stack. Where can a code go wrong?

Before the discount matters, the code has to fit the account. A voucher must match the account's region, and that region can't be changed. A UK account needs a UK card in pounds, even if a card for another country is cheaper. At ShopToShopTo.NetShopTo.net is a UK online retailer built around video games, consoles, digital downloads and gift cards for PlayStation, Nintendo and Xbox. It also stocks TVs, laptops and tablets.Buying guide · View store →, a wrong-region purchase isn't refunded, and Sony warns about region when a code is given to someone abroad.

A child's account has no wallet. A wallet code bought as a present for a child goes on the family manager's account, and the child can spend from that wallet only within a monthly limit. Sony sets it at £0 until a parent changes it. That means a card bought for a child ends up as credit in a parent's wallet.

There are limits even on an adult account. A code can fail when it would take the wallet over its limit; it can be redeemed once the balance is lower. I'd spend one big card before adding another. A code works once and won't be replaced if lost, stolen or used without permission. Some PS Plus purchases paid from a wallet still require a payment method on the account.

For a ShopTo card, the terms add a 12-month expiry from purchase unless the product says otherwise, a 14-day window to report a faulty code and no cancellation after payment. I'd redeem it when it arrives, while there's still time to sort out a faulty code.

How much risk is a lower price worth?

A lower listing price can be hard to judge when the seller or final fee changes the deal. The cards above are UK codes in the currency of a UK account, while cheaper search results can raise harder questions. Sony can suspend accounts that use a fraudulently obtained code, and a marketplace's seller is answerable if its code fails. Our guide to whether game key sites are legit looks at each shop's terms and what happens with a faulty code.

My line is a UK card from a shop whose page says it's for UK accounts, with the full price visible before checkout. Our card pages include UK codes only, show each listing's region in the shop's own words and don't mark a price as the lowest when its shop adds fees at checkout. A headline discount is useful only if the code redeems and the fee doesn't swallow it.

How does the credit reach the wallet?

Once you have the right code, redemption is short. On a PS5, the PlayStation Store's triangle-button menu has Redeem Code under More. On the web, it's under your profile at the top of the PlayStation Store; in the PlayStation App, it's in the menu on the PS Store screen. Each asks for the 12 digits. If it's paying for a PS Plus renewal, the credit needs to be in the wallet before the renewal date.

What I'd buy

The amount you're likely to use matters more than the biggest percentage in the table. The PSN gift card page shows today's prices for every value, and each card page lets you watch its lowest price. Our PlayStation game prices compare UK shops for a game; the gift cards and memberships page puts Xbox and Nintendo cards beside PlayStation's. For one game, I'd buy whichever discounted UK card covers its PlayStation Store price with the least left over. For a PS Plus year, I'd use the pair that covers it unless a membership code costs less. A regular spender has a reason to buy a big card for the 12% to 14% saving, but I'd leave an odd value above face value, a card for another country or a card without a visible final total alone.
