Lights4fun: what to know before you buy
The story
Lights4fun started as a family business around the kitchen table in 2003. It says it focuses on quality products and customer care, and that transforming spaces, from making a house a home to turning an ordinary day into a special one, is what it is about. Its in-house team designs exclusive products.
The range
Lighting is split into indoor, outdoor, battery, plug-in and solar. There are fairy lights, festoon lights, lanterns, wreaths and garlands, curtain and net lights, children’s lights and seasonal pieces. Its TruGlow candles give the look of candlelight without a flame, and its connectable ranges let you link lights together.
Planning your lights
Before you buy, think about where the lights will go and where the nearest socket is. Check that a product is meant for outdoors if that is where it is heading. For connectable ranges, make sure the plug, extension and connectors match, and look at the listing to see whether batteries or a transformer are included.
It can help to measure the run first. Work out the distance from the socket to where the lights will hang, and whether a plug-in, battery or solar set suits the spot best. Solar and battery sets avoid cables altogether.
Delivery
UK orders, including Northern Ireland, go with Evri or DPD, with standard, express and next-day options. Costs and any free-delivery rule are shown at checkout. It also delivers to Ireland and the Channel Islands, and runs separate French and German shops for the rest of Europe.
Saving
Any codes are listed on this page and entered at checkout. Its returns page notes you can’t exchange items, so choose the system and length carefully first.
Returns and guarantee
Lights4fun offers a returns window on its products, with return postage at your own cost. Items must be unmarked, undamaged and in their original packaging, and sets are returned complete. Products also carry a manufacturing warranty covering faults, but not general wear and tear.
